Today, the kids and I got to visit with some old friends/neighbors of ours. Man, it had been too long since we last saw them! They are the Kaylors. They have 4 girls (10yo, 9yo and then 7yo twins). Ah...we remember them when the girlies were just peanuts. Amy was also pregnant with her twins the same time I was pregnant with Jared. Fun times, as pregnant neighbors! ;)

They are a sweet family! We enjoyed seeing you ladies! Thanks for letting us visit and play with you! We'll have to do it again soon :DFrom back to front and L to R...Paige, Sophia, Sadie, Chloe (or do I have them switched, Amy? ;) ), Anna, Brielle, Jared, Bethany and Suzan. 8 girlies and 1 boy. Jared was surrounded by PINK! ;)

Merry Christmas!

Suzan, Bethany, Jared, Brielle and Anna (on our way out the door to Christmas Eve service)

From our family to yours...have a very blessed Christmas! Praying you all enjoy Christmas with your family and friends! And may we all celebrate the true meaning of Christmas...

John 1:9-14 - The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name (Jesus!), he gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Merry Christmas!

Train Engineers

It was cute. Today Jared remembered to build and put his GeoTrax train around and underneath our Christmas tree. Well, this afternoon, after the girlies' naptime, Anna and Bethany were playing with the train (they were the 1st girls up so they got 1st dibs ;) ). They were very sweet and gentle with it, knowing it is Jared's train (well, maybe theirs too ;) ). I showed them how to drive the train and they LOVED it! They enjoyed watching it go around our tree :)

Here are some pics (I only got Anna, though, playing :( ).

The train. Notice that the yellow train is pushing Santa and Santa's train. Santa's train is not powered by batteries ;)Anna playing with the train, probably giving it a push or getting it back on trackI see lots of "turns" taken among the 5 kids in order to play with the train ;) We have 2 battery-powered GeoTrax train engines and several "hand" powered trains, Santa's being 1 of them.

Again, it's really cute to see the girlies now playing with Jared's train set :)

I can't take credit for finding this most awesome video. My sister-in-law, Mary, found it. Thanks Mary! I loved it!

A Visit with Grandpa

Well, late this afternoon we got back from a last minute trip up north in AZ to see Grandpa. Wish we could have seen him under better circumstances. My dad was experiencing complications from a stent procedure he had done in his legs back in Thanksgiving week. He couldn't walk and was in pain. He was in the hospital for a few days then moved to a care and rehab center where he could work with physical therapy on walking and getting his legs better. In any case, when we got this news Paul, my mom and I said "we need to go see him!" So we did! I'm glad we did too. We got to visit with him and he got to see Jared and the girls. They bombarded him with lots of hugs, kisses, talking, running around and squealing - Ha! ;)

Here are some pics from our quick weekend visit up north.

After visiting with Grandpa on Saturday, we took a quick trip to the city park. Brrr! Was it cold! Us Valley folks are not used to 40* weather! ;) Jared giving me a silly look :PBrielle having fun swingingBethany on the swingsAnna looking sweet on the swingsSuzan running around. I barely get her to stand still for a picture! Crazy busy girly!Grammy and the kids running aroundBrielle soaking up the Grammy time. I think this little girly has Grammy (and Dad) wrapped around her little finger ;)Jared, Brielle, Bethany, Anna and Suzan watching Mickey's Christmas on our DVD player back at the hotel. THANK GOODNESS for Mickey (and other kid DVDs) and portable DVD players!!!Bedtime! Jared with his 4 sisters. Amazingly enough, 1) Mama and Grammy found a hotel that had a suite big enough to sleep all 8 of us and 2) the girlies still are able to all sleep on a mattress. Whew!Another visit with Grandpa the next day. Grandpa with his 5 grandkids...Jared, Anna, Brielle, Grandpa, Suzan and BethanyAnd now a pic with MamaWe had some "fun" and "interesting" driving weather while we were up there. Snow...Fog. Uff!!!And "yay! it finally clears up!" For those of you that live with this kind of stuff...glad I'm not you! Sorry to say that but it's true ;)Again, I'm happy that we were able to make a quick trip to see Grandpa/my dad! We're praying he can get better, walk better and not be in pain (or at least that it's manageable). Praying God heals him quickly and that he doesn't have to go back into the hospital/rehab again!

The girlies playing

I had to take some fun and current pics of the girlies today! They (and brother) were having fun playing in our front yard this morning. Enjoy the pics!

This little girly was the one that prompted me to go grab my camera and take some pics. Look at this Fashionista! Yes, that's Suz for you ;) I get the feeling she's going to be the trend setter in our family!Anna, revving the engine and ready to race someone - Ha! ;)Bethany checking out the flowers in our yardBrielle too. The girlies were cute, putting these orange trumpet flowers on their fingertips. Kids come up with the funniest, silliest things ;)

Thanksgiving 2010 - Part I, Turkey Day

For the safety of those with slow connections (and limited attention spans ;) ) I thought I would split our Thanksgiving trip into 2 parts. I took 395 pictures on our trip - Uff! No, they are all not here, thankfully ;) That would be picture overload!

Here is Part I, on Turkey Day. It was a good time, surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins, and we stuffed ourselves silly with Aunt Norma's yummy food. Thanks again Aunt Norma for hosting and having us Zonis over :)

Mama was a crazy baker days before Turkey Day. I always bake and bring my pecan pies to Thanksgiving. All from scratch. Way too yummy!Jared requested me to bake and bring our famous sugar cookies for us to enjoy where we were stayingI also made some fun Mouse Ear sugar cookies for the kids to enjoy at our day at Disneyland :) Red for Jared and pink for the girlies ;)Did I mention that I was crazy for baking so much? Here, pumpkin bread. Yum!On the road, we stopped again at the dinosaurs just outside of Palm Springs. It was bitterly cold and windy, though, so we didn't linger too long outside ;)We made it! Turkey Day with family! Here, Jared playing poolBethany being silly ;)Anna playing with my cousin's twin boys, Sebastian and Damian.
