Desert Botanical Gardens

Last week, I took Jared and one of his classmates, Tori, to the Desert Botanical Gardens to meet up with their class for a field trip. This is my second time visiting the Gardens and I LOVE it! Now is a great time (well, not now because it's 100 degrees HOT! :P ) to visit the Gardens. Everything is in bloom, the Butterfly Gardens are open and there is an awesome Chihuly glass exhibition to check out. Really...folks if you live here in AZ or the Valley you have to go check it out. It is so worth it!! FYI...the Chihuly exhibition is at the Gardens until May 31st, 2009.

Here are some pictures of the outing. Yeah, I think I took a picture of every Chihuly exhibit ;)

The Race to Walk

Okay, so I see a lot of you have voted on our poll "who is going to walk first?" It looks like it's neck and neck in the race to walk, between Suzan and Brielle. Well...okay maybe a 2 to 1 vote there ;) So here's more information on the girls' bipedalism, in case it changes your vote ;)

Suzan - Has been crawling for some time now. First it was an army/comando crawl yet for the last couple months has been a "regular" palms and knees crawl. She pulls herself up to her feet effortlessly and has started to cruise via side-stepping.

Anna - She, too, has been crawling for some time now. Although, she is still a belly crawler. Within the last few weeks or so she has learned to pull up to her knees. She's not pulling up to her feet, though.

Bethany - Another long-time crawler and, like Suzan, started out as a belly crawler but a few months ago turned into a "regular" crawler. Within the last few weeks, all of a sudden, she learned to pull up to her knees, then feet a few days later and now is pulling up to a standing position. She, too, has been seen cruising by taking little steps from object to object.

Brielle - Long-time crawler and has always been a "regular" crawler. No belly crawling for this little lady ;) She's been pulling up to her feet for as long as Suzan has been pulling up. We've seen her cruise or walk around objects once or twice. She also likes to dance or wiggle her little self while standing - Ha! :)

So there you have it! Let's see who makes it to the finish line first in the Race to Walk :D

**Oh! And to note, Jared was pulling up at around 10.5 months old, cruised at 13 months old and walked at 14.5 months.

Easter 2009 Pictures (finally! ;) )

Uff! Okay, I finally went through the 327 pictures I took at Easter. This was our first real Easter with the girls! The girls' first Easter, in 2008 on 3/23/08, was spent in the NICU. So really, this is their first real Easter too. They got to watch Jared hunt for eggs, ate some chocolate bunnies and enjoyed dressing up in pretty Easter dresses (okay, that's really just for Mama ;) ). Enjoy the pics! (lots more at our family website, under "Holidays" and "Easter")
