The Last Days of Pre-K

Jared is now officially on summer break. Wow, how can that be? It feels like the other day that I dropped him off for his first day at his pre-k class. He had a great year in his class, learning, experimenting, building friendships, venturing out on field trips and getting to spend time with God. I KNOW he will miss his teachers and all of the kids from the class!! No more preschool/baby school/pre-k for our little baby boy (*sniff, sniff*). It's on to "big kid" school for him...Kindergarten!

Here are some pictures of him with some friends, teachers and at the last day of school party they had at a neighborhood park.

What a fun morning with some good friends and teachers!!We're going to try our hardest to get together for play dates with some of his pre-k friends. Most, if not all, of the kids are going to different schools. So Jared will probably not see these friends again :( Although, I believe there might be three going to his new school. We'll have to see.

In the meantime, we're going to start our summer vacation. We have some swim lessons planned at our local community pool, hopefully some play dates with friends, as I mentioned, plans to keep learning and keep that smart noggin of his working ;) , playtime with the girlies in the kiddie pool in the back yard, watch some kids movies thanks to Netflix and, just in general, enjoy time with the Big Guy before he takes off for all-day K come the end of July. It should be a good and fun summer break! :D

Can I ask you a question? I used to be a teacher in my country and I wonder, what kind of things children learn at pre-Kindergarten? And how parents choose a school for their children in the States?

Looks like Jared really had fun:))
