Bedtime feeding with the girls

The girls were looking and being so cute tonight at the bedtime feeding that I decided to snap some photos of them. 'Cause, you know, you gotta capture these fun moments when they are little like this while you can :)

Suzan sleepingAh ha, she found her thumb! Woo hoo!Suzan's been making these raspberry sounds for a while now. It's quite amusing :P"Ah, the paparazzi! Thank you Uncle Fred and Aunt Ginger

Thank you for the generous gifts for the kids! It will be fun to put pictures of the girls in the frames and we know Jared will love wearing his new shirt. He had fun just opening the girls' gifts for them ;)

Back to school!

What was the something big happening today? Jared is back in school! Today was his first day at his new pre-k class. He will be going to class four days a week for three hours a day. It should be a good time for him...to keep learning, to meet new friends, to play and to learn more about and spend time with God. Awesome!

Here are some pics of the boy :)

"Let's go Mama!
"We're here in my new pre-k classroom!"
"Yeah, uh huh Mama. Okay, bye." Ha! (Jared enjoying the fun activities in class)

Articles on other quad families

I just found these articles on other quad families very sweet! It also shows me/us a glimpse at what life will be like with older quads ;)

Man finds calling as father of quadruplets, three singletons
Quadruplets ready to spread their wings
Quads “always have a friend”
The Durst Quadruplets: Four at fourteen

I am sure there are LOTS more fun and interesting articles out there on quads (and if you happen to find any more, feel free to leave a comment with the link to it).

Splashin'

This morning, my mom, nephew, Tyler, Jared and I went splashin' at Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center here in town. We would have gone to Hamilton's pool, that is closer and where we've been to in the past, but since school started up on Monday the high schools use the pools M-F. Oh well.

We had fun at this new pool! This pool, too, is being used by the high school nearby but they have the kiddie pool area open during the week, which is nice. It was quite fun. Jared had fun turning all of the wheels that controlled the water spouts and waterfalls and going down the slides. Then, there's this HUGE bucket (or "cup," as Jared liked to call it ;) ) on top of the kiddie water structure that fills up 752 gallons of water and then dumps it on everyone underneath. If you didn't know what it did, then let's just say you'd unknowingly get soaked (ahem, Grammy ;) ). We all enjoyed the time there! My mom and I noted several babies at the pool. She said "oh look, you could bring the girls here!" Yeah, I don't know about that ;) Maybe when they are much older...and I have a lot of extra hands on deck :)

You can't beat the price either - $0.50 for kids and $1.50 for adults. Sweet!!

ETA: There's something big happening tomorrow (Thursday) :)

Good night Brielle

Tonight, we ran out of clean purple 3-6mo PJs for Brielle so we had to dip into Bethany's wardrobe (6-9mo, mind you). Paul put these big girl PJs on Peanut :) I think two-piece PJs always make little kids look bigger than they really are. It just looks like she should get up and walk around like a big kid or something ;) Too cute!

Wall-e with Jared

Thanks to some very nice family members watching the girls for us (thanks Jayson and Lisa! - yes, I said Jayson :P ), Paul and I took Jared out to the movies. It was our very first time taking him to the movie theaters. I know, that's sounds crazy. He has gone with some friends/family members of ours to the movies before - once with Jayson and Lisa to the IMAX theater to see "The Polar Express" and then with our friend, Terri, to see "Horton Hears a Who." But he hasn't gone to the movies with either or both of us. It was so fun to see him sitting in the big seats, munching on some popcorn (I shared with him - yum!) and enjoying the movie.

Wall-e was the feature presentation. I figured he'd like to see it, as he and I will sit together and watch the clips from the official Wall-e website. Just seeing him laugh and enjoy the clips at the site told me "take him to the theater to see the actual movie!" It was a cute little movie. As folks, who had already seen it, told us it is a "green" movie. And there were some jokes in the movie that little kids wouldn't get, like the urban legend that twinkies and cockroaches will live/last forever. Ha! Disney/Pixar always does a great job...other favorites of ours are "Finding Nemo" and "Cars" (yeah, if you know Jared, then you know he LOVES "Cars" ;) ).

It was a good movie and a great time to treat our son!

Happy Birthday Big Guy!

No, I don't mean Jared. I mean the other big guy...Paul. The kids and I are so blessed to have Paul. He is such an amazing and gifted man! I pray that he gets to enjoy his special day.

Jared helped me bake a cake for Paul (Jared picked this one out - it was either the BBQ cake or the beach cake)

All thumbs

Anna found her thumb today! Yay! I say "yay!" because with quads it's SO difficult to keep the pacis in their mouths. The pacis help the girls soothe themselves and fall back asleep. And again with FOUR babies, you need them to soothe themselves and fall back asleep ;) Now if only the other girls will catch on and find their thumbs.

Here she is with her thumb (notice the paci, pushed to the side - ha! :) )

Jared "Silly" Carlson

Yes, our boy is silly. What child isn't? :) I took some pictures of him being silly today.

This is what I get when I ask him to smile or say "cheese" -- silly :P
Jared playing around with his cousin, Tyler
And still being silly with Tyler and Grammy
There are a few more pics of the boy at our website, under "Jared" and "Four Years Old."

Miss Green Jeans in the green grass

Bethany is the first baby to have gone outside. We kept the girls inside for the first few months, to keep them healthy, but now it's just too hot to go outside. Fall (which for us will be Novemember ;) ) will be the perfect time to get out. Can't wait!

Here she is...

"Mom, it's too bright out here!"
Thinking the grass is really pokey

Good morning girls!

All four of the girls have been so sweet in waking up, either in the morning or from a nap. Sometimes we'll hear some of the girls just chatting away in the nurseries. And other times they are yelling out their meal requests to us :P This morning Anna and Bethany woke up happy as clams :)

Here are some pictures of Anna and Bethany. Suzan and Brielle already had a head start on breakfast :)

Good morning Anna!
Waking up a happy baby
Good morning Bethany!
Smiling already :)
