This morning, our friend (Patrick Murphy, pilot for Southwest Airlines) called and invited us to meet him and his family out at Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa. He said the airport was having an "open house" and that we would have fun looking at all of the air crafts. So, we joined the Murphys out there.
It was fun! Jared had a blast looking at all of the airplanes and helicopters (Jay Jay and Herky, if you know the PBS show "Jay Jay the Jet Plane" ;) ) We got to see (Apache Helicopter), walk around in (Boeing 707) or sit in some of the planes (Vision Airlines, they actually fly from Mesa to Las Vegas). There were also fire trucks there from the local fire departments. After seeing the Boeing, Jared wanted to see and sit in EVERY plane there. HA!
Get this, all of you up north, the University of North Dakota had a plane and recruitment station set up! I asked Paul "what? how? WHY??" He said that UND has one of the best aviation schools in the country. Our friend, Patrick, confirmed this. That is pretty cool!
